What KeepTabs stores
The bills and subscriptions you enter — names, amounts, currencies, dates, categories, tags, notes and any icons you choose — are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
If you are signed in to iCloud, this data also syncs through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices and survives replacing your phone. It is stored in your private iCloud database. The developer cannot see it, and neither can anyone else.
You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in the iOS Settings app, under your Apple Account → iCloud.
What leaves your device
One thing, and it contains nothing about you.
When currency conversion is enabled, KeepTabs requests exchange rates from api.frankfurter.dev. That request contains a currency code — nothing else. No personal data, no device identifiers, no information about your bills or subscriptions, and no way to identify you. Rates are cached on your device and refreshed about once a day.
You can switch currency conversion off in KeepTabs under Settings → Convert currencies, and no network request will be made at all.
What KeepTabs does not do
No accounts
There is nothing to sign up for and no password to create.
No analytics
No usage tracking, no crash reporting services, no session recording.
No advertising
No ad networks and no ad identifiers.
No third-party SDKs
The app uses Apple's frameworks only.
No data sales
There is no data to sell.
No bank connections
KeepTabs never asks for and cannot access your bank accounts or card details. You enter amounts yourself.
Purchases
KeepTabs Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — the developer never sees your card details or billing information. Apple confirms whether a purchase is active, and nothing more.
Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction: apple.com/uk/legal/privacy.
Notifications
Renewal, trial and contract reminders are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent from a server, and no notification passes through the developer or any third party.
Children
KeepTabs is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. As no data is collected from any user, no data is collected from children either.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, export and erase personal data held about you. Because the developer holds no data about you, these rights are satisfied directly on your device:
- Access and export — Settings → Export as CSV produces a complete copy of everything, including archived records.
- Correct — edit any entry at any time.
- Erase — delete entries in the app, or delete the app to remove all local data. To remove synced copies, delete KeepTabs data from iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Any change that affects what leaves your device will be described here plainly rather than buried.
